Giorgio Tentolini nasce a Casalmaggiore (Cremona) nel 1978, si forma in Arti Grafiche presso l’Istituto d’Arte “Toschi” di Parma, per diplomarsi in design e comunicazione alla “Università del Progetto” di Reggio Emilia. Dopo stages presso artisti come Marco Nereo Rotelli, inizia una personalissima ricerca con installazioni su base fotografica, per le quali subito ottiene riconoscimenti significativi. Ogni sua opera nasce da una precisa indagine sul Tempo come memoria e identità, in un’attenta e lenta ricostruzione che avviene con lo studio della luce e l’incisione di strati di materiali diversi, tessuti, carte, PVC. Sono il tulle e ila rete metallica l’attuale medium della sua ricerca per la levità meditativa che i suoi strati restituiscono all’immagine, metafora di luoghi e ricordi, di sogni e visioni. Un lavoro pittorico dunque che vive la realtà della scultura. Vive e lavora tra Casalmaggiore, Reggio Emilia e Milano.
Giorgio Tentolini, born in Casalmaggiore (Cremona) in 1978, studied Graphic Arts at the Art Institute “Toschi” in Parma, and graduated in Design and Communication in “Università del Progetto” in Reggio Emilia. After internships with artists like Marco Nereo Rotelli, he began a personal research with photographic installations, obtaining significant art prizes. Each of his works stems from a specic research on Time as memory and identity, in a careful and slow reconstruction that takes place with the study of light and etching of layers of different materials as fabric, paper, PVC. Tulle and masking tape are the current medium of his research for the meditative levity that they put into the image, a metaphor of places and memories, dreams and visions. A pictorial work which crosses the frontier of reality of sculpture. Tentolini lives and works in Casalmaggiore, Reggio Emilia and Milan.
